The Actor's Journey

A playable history of cinema. 42 workshops on the craft, nine chapters of film history, a glossary of the trade and the tree of acting schools. Free, no account, in your browser. It opens in a new tab: the game lives at an address of ours, outside this site.

What is free and what needs an account

The game is free always, with no asterisks. Always free: all 42 workshops, the Film Library, the Glossary, the Tree of Schools and reading the Casting Wall. An account is needed for your casting portrait, the reveal of your character and posting on the Wall.

If you teach

This does not set out to replace an acting school. It sets out to teach the part of the set nobody teaches: what most students miss is not another acting class — it is understanding what the script supervisor does, why the first AD is in that much of a hurry, or what happens in the edit to the take you just gave.

On AI, which frightens people for good reason: ours does not act and does not replace anyone. It gives the student the other line at three in the morning, when there is nobody across from them. The repetitions come from the machine; the direction comes from you. The student arrives in class with the text in their body, and that hour goes to what only a teacher can do.

How we could work together

  • An interview with whoever runs the school, published and linked to their directory entry.
  • Your workshops and intensives in the training directory, with dates and places, at no cost and no commission.
  • The Actor's Journey for your students as support material: it is free and we ask for nothing in return.
  • A workshop of yours inside the path: your speciality, designed with you and under your name.

Cards on the table: ReplikActor is recent and the community is still small. We say so in order that you decide with the real information. Write to hola@replikactor.es — a reply telling us where we are wrong is worth more than a polite yes.

What you will play

The 42 workshops are grouped by what they ask you to do, not by department.

  • Decide

You read a case and decide. The consequence arrives afterwards.

  • Time

You have to hit an exact instant. It is played with your pulse.

  • Look

Something changes and you have to see it. What a script supervisor does all day.

  • Order

You put things in the right sequence, and then you see what your order cost.

Where it lives

The game runs at an address of ours, on our own servers, and it is open to search engines and AI assistants. Play now
